A man escaped a patrol of gendarmes on the shores of Lake Annecy (Haute-Savoie), on the night of Saturday to Sunday.

The reasons why the soldiers wanted to arrest the individual are not known but the suspect obviously had something to reproach himself for.

As Le Dauphiné Libéré explains, he decided to jump from a pontoon into the water.

The man then swam out to sea.

The gendarmes, to avoid a dramatic situation, tried to follow his trail by boat, supported in the air by a Civil Security helicopter.

The search lasted about thirty minutes, in vain.

The fugitive would have managed to get out of the lake without being spotted, specify our colleagues.

An investigation was opened and entrusted to the Annecy-le-Vieux brigade.
