A magical journey with Italian cinema... awaits you at "Expo"

Lazio region accompanies visitors to "Expo 2020 Dubai" on a magical journey with films and masterpieces that have won international awards, during the "Lazio Cinema Land" week, which seeks to highlight and enhance the value of the Italian cultural and creative sector during the international exhibition.

Cinema and audiovisual media occupy a distinguished position in Lazio, and during the past year, the region led this sector in Italy, and ranked second in Europe in terms of investments in the film industry, with an allocation of about 30 million euros for the current year 2021.

For his part, the president of the Lazio region, Nicola Zingaretti, said: "We have not stopped supporting cinema even during the epidemic, and we will continue to focus on the audiovisual sector also for the future, and Lazio will always remain the land of cinema."

He considered that cinema is a tool for introducing the Lazio region at the global level, describing "Expo 2020 Dubai" as "undoubtedly an unmissable opportunity to promote cinema and our region."

Among the most prominent events is the exhibition "Lazio, Land of Cinema, Land of Magical Crafts", organized by Clara Tosi Pamphili and Alessio de Navasques, founders of "AI" or "Artistic Intelligence", to highlight the region's cinematic activities at "Expo".

The exhibition is a rediscovery, by displaying the purposes and productions, which were carried out by professionals in the sector, with the aim of providing the opportunity for young people to learn about non-famous professions and deal with them efficiently and professionally.

For his part, Quirino Briganti, responsible for the Lazio region at Expo 2020 Dubai, said: "The (Lazio exhibition, the land of cinema... the land of magical crafts) celebrates those crafts that have been passed down through several generations, as it highlights fashion and accessories, in addition to pictures. For places of the most important productions of Italian cinema that made the history of the seventh art in this country.”

He stressed that "the exhibition is an enchanting visual journey through memories, evoking unforgettable and award-winning films."

From the past to the future

The exhibition “Lazio, Land of Cinema, Land of Magical Crafts” tells the past, present and future of the region, as if they were episodes of production, where objects, costumes and accessories are the backdrop for the photographs of production and training venues, such as those in the Experimental Center of Cinematography, the Lazio Film Commission, and the Jaén School Maria Volunte.

It sheds light on ancient traditions, especially the “Treasury of Wonders” divided into large viewing windows that describe the objectivity of the tradition of artistic and craft culture in Lazio cinema.
