A local company generating 60 million dirhams in savings through its employee ideas

Emirates Global Aluminum announced today that it has achieved cost savings of nearly 60 million dirhams since the beginning of this year, by implementing employee opinions and projects in its various programs for continuous improvement.

Since last January, the company's employees have submitted 18,400 ideas through the "Employee Suggestion" program, which aims to discover solutions to the challenges of operations, safety and the environment, which resulted in cost savings of more than 28 million dirhams.

The company also achieved savings of more than 32 million dirhams through the “Tamayouz” program launched by the company in 2016 to conduct detailed analyzes of EGA's operations, led by its experts who direct the teams to implement these improvements.

Among the most important ideas that were presented in the year 2020, is the use of a laser detection system to prevent any foreign objects from entering the main and important parts of the machines, and this contributes to preventing a malfunction that requires a long time to repair.

Another team proposed a new, more energy-efficient mechanism to help capture airborne dust, which preserves the health and safety of staff working in the field, as well as improving air quality around and outside the workplace.

It is noteworthy that Emirates Global Aluminum began operating the employee suggestion program since 1981, and since then, the company’s employees have submitted about 500,000 proposals for operational and technical improvements, of which 312,000 have been implemented, which contributed to achieving savings of 416 million dirhams.
