A high school student tried for apologizing for terrorism in the Oise

A high school student from Méru (Oise) is due to appear this Monday before the Beauvais juvenile court to answer for public apology for terrorism, reports

It all started with a report on the Pharos platform, which allows you to report suspicious online content.

The high school student would have, in October 2021, commented on Twitter on the publication of an article by

caricaturing the Prophet Muhammad.

He would have made particular reference to the assassination of Professor Samuel Paty.

An investigation had been opened by the Beauvais prosecutor's office.

Biased remarks

Investigators then discovered that the young man had been talked about in his high school on October 11, 2021 with tendentious remarks during a history lesson.

He would have declared in particular "that he would not fight for France but for Syria".

Apological images and videos were also found on his phone.

Sanctions can be taken at school level and the headteacher can, depending on the facts, make a report to the public prosecutor.
