On the morning of the 4th, a fire broke out in the home of a household in Jianandi Community, Tianfu Great Wall, High-tech Zone, Chengdu. The household lived on the 21st floor.

The Chengdu Commercial Daily-Red Star News reporter learned at the scene that Mr. Wang, a resident on the 24th floor of the same building, quickly went to the adjacent floors downstairs and knocked on the door at the early stage when he noticed the fire. Mr. Wang went home and took out the standing fire extinguisher to try to put out the fire, but the fire and smoke were too strong before giving up.
According to Mr. Wang’s recollection, at the beginning of the fire, he first smelled a scorching smell. After checking his house and found no abnormalities, he went to the window to visit and realized that the smell came from downstairs. “(At that time) there was already Smoke is out."
At first, Mr. Wang thought it was the 22nd floor that was on fire. "Hurry up and knock on the door, but no one has opened it." Observed again, "I found out that it was the 21st floor."
Then, Mr. Wang went down to the 21st floor and continued knocking on the door.
He knocked on the door of one of the residents for a long time, and no one came to open the door. He knocked while calling the property.
Finally, a little girl opened the door.
Mr. Wang said that the smoke in the room was already very thick at that time, "only the space below 1 meter can be seen."
He hurriedly told the little girl to turn off the main power switch, and then guided the little girl and her grandfather to escape.
After the two left, Mr. Wang returned to his house and took the standing fire extinguisher to put out the fire, but the smoke was too large to enter.
In a video taken by witnesses at the scene, there was fire in the burning room at this time, black smoke continued to float from the inside of the house to the window, and some burned pieces began to fall downstairs.
After that, fire rescue personnel arrived and soon contained the fire.
The reporter saw the little girl who had escaped at the scene. She said that grandpa lived in the room where the fire broke out. Grandpa was over 80 years old this year. When the fire first appeared, she extinguished the fire by herself, but she failed and her hair was scorched.
She speculated that the fire might be related to the electric blanket used in the room.
Fortunately, neither of them was injured. "Grandpa has no physical problems and has moved to a safe place." The little girl said.
According to the Chengdu Fire Rescue Detachment, the area of the fire was about 10 square meters, and there were no casualties. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
