Filipino weightlifter Hedlin Diaz dazzled the world with her country's historic achievement in the Olympic Games currently being held in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, and crowning the gold medal in the weightlifting competition in the 55 kg category, which is the first in the history of the Philippines' participation in the event that is repeated every four years.
Diaz, 30, had suffered both during her preparation for the Olympics, but every time she found a way out to achieve her dream, she resorted, in the most difficult circumstances, to using water bottles attached to a wooden stick to train in lifting weights and movement techniques during the time of home isolation during the outbreak of the Corona virus, Which she revealed in a video she posted on her account on “Instagram”, and commented on him: “Yes, this is what I do. I raise water bottles to train for weightlifting. It is difficult, but we have to get used to facing obstacles, and for my dream to remain alive in my heart.” .
Diaz has more than 200,000 followers on her account in "Instagram" and the likes are poured out on her photos, which reflect her passion for sports and weightlifting competitions in particular.

It seems that these circumstances were inspiring to the Filipino champion, who did not taste the taste of gold in her country in the Olympic Games, until Diaz set an Olympic record in Tokyo after she managed to lift a total of 224 kilograms to take the lead in the women's 55 kg category.
After announcing her gold win, the Philippines lived with great joy, and Diaz received a lucrative financial reward of 33 million pesos (660,000 dollars) including incentives from the Philippine Sports Commission of 10 million pesos, in addition to cash and a house provided by a businessman.
Diaz had previously won 10 Olympic medals in the history of her participation, (3 silver and 7 bronze), but she only got gold in Tokyo and turned into a source of inspiration for athletes and a true legend in her country.
