The toy company Hasbro, accused of promoting child crime, will withdraw a doll it had marketed. The toy, bearing the image of the character Poppy, has a button on its stomach that allows it to pronounce sentences and make sounds, reports Slate .
But the controversy comes from elsewhere. Between Poppy's legs, a second button makes her grow small cries of joy, reports the Refinery29 site relayed by Slate . An online petition has already collected more than 400,000 signatures, calling for its withdrawal from the market.

Rolling Stone magazine investigated and discovered that this button was actually a sensor that should activate when the doll was seated. Hasbro admitted that this was a blunder and offered to exchange the doll for a product of equivalent value. According to the RAINN organization (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), one in nine minors and one in 53 minors are victims of child crime.
