Police: The alleged perpetrator of the beheading of a teacher is shot dead
Profile: Samuel Paty, the beheaded professor in France
A man detained this week in Barcelona for exalting terrorism has been released with precautionary measures of obligation to appear every 15 days in court and withdraw his passport.
The arrested man used his profiles on social networks to share posts with messages that legitimized the beheading of Professor Samuel Paty on the outskirts of Paris on October 16 and incited new terrorist attacks.
The 47-year-old French teacher was murdered next to the school where he taught
History
and
Geography
classes
after showing his students cartoons of
Muhammad
.
Hours later, the police shot down the perpetrator, an 18-year-old who was not a student at the center, and subsequently detained several people, some of them school students, for their alleged connection to the attack.
The investigation of the Mossos d'Esquadra has been carried out under the supervision of the Central Court of Instruction 3 and the coordination of the
Prosecutor's Office
of the National Court.
