During its exhibition "The Art of Literature: Loan and Selling Exhibition", organized from June 7 to 15 in London, Christie's will auction one of the 500 hardback copies from a first printing of the famous book

Harry Potter

and the philosopher's stone

.

Bids for this book by JK Rowling will start at $250,000 (£200,000).

According to CNN, this first edition dating from 1997 contains some errors.

For example, the word "philosophers" is spelled "philosphers" on the back cover.

On page 53 of the book, the words "a wand" are repeated twice.

A quarter of a century after the first printing

Of these 500 copies, 300 were sent to libraries.

This rare work sold at Christie's is one of 200 remaining.

In the meantime, JK Rowling's work has been a worldwide success, spawning a colossal film franchise and many other, obviously corrected, editions.

A quarter of a century after the first printing of the adventures of the young wizard, there is no doubt that this sale will arouse the greed of Harry Potter fans.

This book is nothing less than "the physical manifestation of a magical memory for so many people

,

" said a specialist in printed books quoted by Reuters.
