It is a story that shakes the small village of Saint-Médard-de-Guizières in Gironde.

Last Thursday, a 7-year-old child was brought home by a municipal police officer at noon because of unpaid canteen bills.

According to the town hall, the mother of the family owes the municipality nearly 800 euros, which represents between 350 and 400 meals since 2019.

If the latter does not seem to dispute this, it denounces the form of this intervention with the

South West.

She affirms that she had planned to regularize her situation in the course of the month and puts forward organizational problems to pick up her child at noon.

For its part, the town hall explains that it took this decision as a last resort after having already received the mother of the family and having sent her another letter recently to pay her debt.

The town has 16,000 euros of unpaid bills between the canteen and the extracurricular.
