Expo 2020 Dubai revealed an initiative to promote health and safety standards in construction sites through the "Workers Fitness Program", which used the innovative and advanced "WOP" technology to monitor the health status of workers at the international event building site.

A statement released today stated that the advanced technology is the result of cooperation between the "Expo 2020 Dubai" and the American company "WOP", which is a bracelet for measuring health indicators that the worker wears to collect information about the performance of vital functions of the body, such as changing the heart rate, exercise, and sleep at times. Various issues throughout the day, noting that through this technique, detailed reports are prepared on the health of the worker, and a weekly summary on the performance of vital functions of the body.

According to the statement, he has volunteered to participate in the program 5,540 workers, who make up about 14% of the total number of workers on the site, over a period of 30 months since the program was launched in 2017.
The size of the database that the program collected and analyzed through this advanced technology reached 13 terabytes, equivalent to about 39 billion information.

Through this initiative, Expo 2020 Dubai seeks to raise the health and safety standards of workers on the site, build on the results achieved and the information gathered to formulate best practices in the construction sectors, and organize huge events in the region, through cooperation with the University of Sharjah.
The program sent a large amount of data that it collected to the University's Research Institute of Medicine and Health Sciences, to analyze information and come up with recommendations on best practices in the construction sector, with the aim of strengthening workers ’health infrastructure at construction sites.
