Downpours will fall again on the Nice hinterland, hard hit three weeks ago by the floods linked to storm Alex.

After the call for “the greatest caution” launched Thursday to the inhabitants of the valleys by the prefect for new significant rainfall, Météo-France warns this Sunday against a third “rain-storm” in a row.

With cumulative rainfall of 40 to 60 mm and, locally, 80 mm near the relief of the Alpes-Maritimes, these bad weather will not be exceptional for the season, notes the forecasting body.

“Nevertheless, the rains will affect vulnerable sectors since storm Alex,” he warns.

Active from the middle of the night from Sunday to Monday, this rainstorm episode should end Monday afternoon.

At least five people died in the October 2 floods, which mainly devastated the Vésubie and Roya valleys.

Thirteen people are still missing.
