Economy Minister Abdullah bin Touq Al-Marri affirmed the strength of the bilateral ties between the UAE and the United States in all fields, especially on the economic and trade levels, explaining that the total volume of non-oil foreign trade between the two countries reached 26.3 billion dollars (more than 96.5 billion dirhams) in the year Last year, while its value exceeded 11 billion dollars (40.3 billion dirhams) during the first half of this year.

This came during Bin Touq's meeting with US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, as part of a series of bilateral meetings for Bin Touq on the sidelines of his participation in the official visit of the UAE delegation to the United States to sign the "Ibrahim Treaty" to normalize relations between the state Emirates and Israel.

He added in a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy yesterday that the UAE is the largest non-oil trading partner of the United States in the region, as the country acquires more than 40% of America's total non-oil trade with Arab countries, and 41% of America's non-oil trade With the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, in addition to the Emirati investments that account for the largest share of the total Arab investments in the American markets, with a cumulative balance of $ 27.6 billion until the end of 2019, the country also ranks first in the Arab world and 20th globally among the most important investing countries in America.

The American side explained during the meeting that the UAE is the first destination for US exports of products and services in the Middle East, as the value of those exports reached $ 20 billion last year, supporting 120,000 job opportunities in the United States.
