On April 22, local time, the U.S. Senate passed an overwhelming 94 to 1 vote to resolve hate crimes against Asian Americans-the "Covid-19 Hate Crimes Act."
This bill will help the U.S. Department of Justice speed up the review of registered hate crimes related to the new crown pneumonia, and help establish a more complete online reporting system and help-seeking system.
The bill will also allow the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Health and Human Resources Services to issue relevant guidance programs to standardize the language related to the new crown epidemic and reduce the tendency of racial discrimination.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said that racial discrimination, especially Asian hatred, has long existed in American history.
The passage of the bill means that the Senate clearly stated that hatred and discrimination have no place in the United States.
