91.3% of the interviewed college candidates hope that the major they study in college will benefit them for a lifetime

More than half of the surveyed college candidates who apply for volunteering pay more attention to employment prospects and college reputation

The results of the college entrance examination have been announced, and the volunteer application is being carried out nervously.

It is said that "seven points test, three points report", for college students and families, filling in the application is an important "examination".

What factors do college students pay attention to when filling out the application form?

What troubles are there?

Last week, a survey of 1,807 college students conducted by the Social Survey Center of China Youth Daily and wenjuan.com showed that future employment prospects and the reputation of colleges and universities are the most valued by the interviewed college students.

57.3% of the interviewed college students are struggling to choose a popular major or an interest major.

91.3% of the surveyed college candidates hope that their majors in college will benefit them for a lifetime.

Among the interviewed college students, 9.4% from Northeast China, 24.6% from East China, 19.9% from North China, 15.7% from Central China, 16.8% from South China, 10.1% from Southwest China, and 10.1% from Northwest China. accounted for 3.5%.

More than half of the interviewed college candidates fill in their volunteers and focus on employment prospects and college reputation

Chen Nan, a science college student in Henan Province, scored 533 points this year, 24 points higher than the first-level test.

Most of the volunteers he reported were in the province, and two were even close to home.

"I prefer to study in the province. First, the admission scores of colleges and universities in other provinces are higher, and second, it is more convenient to study in the province."

Zhou Xuankai is also a college student this year, scoring 553 points.

He said that he wanted to go to the military academy and applied for approval in advance, but unfortunately, he participated in the first batch of admissions applications before he passed the interview line.

"I pay the most attention to the employment situation, professional prospects, and the city of study. Majors must have market demand, which is what social development needs. I hope to enter the sunrise industry, with good employment opportunities and higher salary levels. In the city, I prefer second-tier cities that are developing rapidly, with a good living and entertainment environment, low consumption levels, and a stronger sense of happiness.”

Yu Xiaolu, a junior now studying at Wuhan Textile University, was the first batch of undergraduate admissions.

She feels that it is equally important for candidates to fill in their volunteers and take the college entrance examination.

What factors do college students pay more attention to in the process of volunteering?

The data shows that future employment prospects (57.0%) are the aspects that candidates generally attach importance to, followed by college reputation (52.8%).

Other aspects include: urban development level (48.3%), professional ranking (46.7%), hobbies (42.9%), distance from home (38.9%), school environment and facilities (34.8%), etc.

57.3% of the interviewed college students are struggling to choose a popular major or an interest major

Yu Xiaolu recalled that the most tangled thing when filling out the application form was choosing a popular major or a major of interest.

"The most popular majors at that time were electronic information, accounting, etc., but I liked economics majors."

Before submitting her application, she consulted her postgraduate cousin, and finally gave priority to filling in the popular major, which is also the electronic information engineering major she is studying.

"Because I didn't have a specific and in-depth understanding of the major when I filled out the volunteer application. With the deepening of learning, 'like' may become 'dislike', and 'dislike' may become 'like'. Therefore, employment prospects are given priority. ".

Chen Zhiwen, the editor-in-chief of China Education Online and an academic member of the China Education Development Strategy Society, believes that candidates need to consider the actual market demand when filling in their voluntary applications. Too much emphasis on interests and hobbies is "unreliable".

"First of all, a person's hobbies may change. Secondly, college students' hobbies for some majors and occupations are usually based on inaccurate cognitions."

Chen Nan introduced that when he filled out his application, he swayed back and forth between the weak majors in good schools and the strong majors in weaker schools, "Although it is a few points above the top line, but if you want to go to a better school, you may be transferred to a poor school. I am not willing to study the unpopular major of the school. It is really a 'dilemma of the century' to choose the school's reputation or the professional advantage."

In the end, Chen Nan mainly applied for four majors: electrical engineering and automation, computer science and technology, mechanical and electronic engineering, and electronic information engineering. 'There is also a 'guarantee'".

What problems do the candidates face when filling out the application form?

According to the survey, 57.3% of the interviewed college candidates were struggling to choose a popular major or a major of interest, 53.2% of the interviewed college students were struggling to choose a weak major in a famous school or an ace major in a general school, and 51.0% of the interviewed college students were struggling to read the second book in a big city. It is still a book from other cities. 40.8% of the interviewed college students are struggling to choose a technical college or a comprehensive undergraduate program, and 26.8% of the interviewed college students are worried about whether to leave their hometown to study in the province.

For many candidates, Chen Zhiwen believes that there is no absolute answer and order for the choice of cities, schools and majors.

He suggested that candidates with good grades should give priority to schools, "a good school can win more opportunities and cross many thresholds. Relatively speaking, the needs of majors are relatively broad. For example, the application of selective students requires "985" colleges, and many The restriction on majors in recruitment positions is often the requirement of 'relevant majors'. Moreover, children with strong learning ability have a strong ability to transfer their majors."

He mentioned that for some candidates, however, the choice of city is often ranked ahead of the other two.

"For example, candidates from remote areas may tend to go to an ordinary college in big cities such as Shenzhen and Hangzhou to seek greater development space and opportunities."

57.4% of the interviewed college students believe that they should go to the official official platform to learn about college admissions and employment information

"Every major has its own fields and industries. The acquisition of majors benefits us a lot, and we can't use them all." Yu Xiaolu believes that the majors studied in college have a profound impact on a person's career.

"There are few majors in social demand, and many students are faced with 'learning is not useful' after graduation. They can only step into industries with few restrictions on majors, or prepare to change majors for postgraduate entrance examinations."

91.3% of the surveyed college candidates hope that their majors in colleges will benefit them for a lifetime in the future.

Zhu Minrui, a college student in Hebei Province, felt that the candidates spent a lot of energy in choosing their majors, hoping that the majors they studied would bring more growth and improve their competitiveness.

"There is a lot of information on the Internet, such as professional rankings, employment situation, and enrollment plans, but due to issues such as sources and statistical calibers, they may be inconsistent with each other. I think it is very important to identify the source of information, and the official announcement shall prevail."

In the survey, 57.4% of the interviewed college students believed that they should go to the official official platform to learn about college admissions and employment information.

"The candidates should study the books they want to fill in. They should study the admissions of each school with the corresponding scores over the years within the range of their own scores. You can also call the college admissions office to learn more." Yu Xiaolu believes that candidates must make a good balance and think about it Know what you want, "This is our own life, and no one else can replace it."

Chen Zhiwen suggested that candidates can learn about the subject and major from the seniors and sisters who are studying in the colleges and universities, and "be more down-to-earth".

Now there are many channels to learn about volunteer filling information, he thinks there is no need to spend a lot of money to consult and fill in the report.

"Candidates should use the information published by the examination institutes and schools as important reference materials."

In the survey, 56.7% of the interviewed college candidates believed that they should seriously participate in the use of the voluntary simulation filling system, 54.9% of the interviewed college candidates hoped that teachers would strengthen the interpretation of the admissions policy and guide students to fill in the application, and 54.2% of the interviewed college candidates affirmed that the school organized online 47.8% of the interviewed college students said they want to watch the aerial lectures and professional introductions of colleges and universities.
