Data from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority showed that the total number of passengers, through Dubai International Airport, reached 930,000 last August, compared to 528,000 last July, with a growth rate of about 76%.
According to the data obtained by Emirates Today, the total number of passengers, during the period between January and August for the current year, reached 19 million and 896 thousand and 169 passengers.
Dubai Airport has recorded continuous growth since last April, after the closure period due to the "Covid-19" pandemic.
Like all airports in the world, international passenger traffic has been affected by travel restrictions due to the outbreak of the Corona virus.
In terms of freight traffic, the volume of air cargo, through Dubai International Airport, increased to 149,326 tons last August, compared to 138,986 tons last July, with a growth of about 7.4%.
The Dubai Civil Aviation data indicated that the number of flights at Dubai International Airport reached 11,813 during last August, compared to 9,613 movements last July, with a growth rate of about 22.8%.
The total number of flights at Dubai International Airport during the period between January and August reached 120,856 movements, compared to 17,949 movements at Al Maktoum International Airport.
According to the data, the total volume of air freight through Dubai International Airport reached about 1.13 million tons during the period between January and August last, compared to 124 thousand and 996 tons through Al Maktoum Airport during the same period.
