75,000 yellow ducks compete in the Chicago River

Thousands of runners tossed the hairs of thousands of rubber ducks along the Chicago River on Thursday to race to cross the finish line as the annual Ducky Derby 2022 returns.

Organized by a non-profit organization, the annual event allows the public to compete in this charitable competition that provides health education, leadership and personal development to more than 21,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities across the state.

For only $5, anyone can borrow a rubber duck and participate in the race, and all profits go to the charitable organization, and the owner of the "fastest rubber duck" at the finish line will be crowned with valuable prizes, according to "Spotnik".

Last year, prizes included a car, a trip to Mexico, $2,000, and a day of fun in Chicago with dinner at a restaurant.
