Rostock (dpa / mv) - In Rostock, a senior citizen was killed in an apartment fire.
As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, the 70-year-old woman was rescued on Monday by fire fighters unconscious from the smoke-filled apartment in the Groß Klein district.
Rescue workers tried to revive the woman, but did not succeed.
Residents in the apartment building had alerted the rescuers because they noticed smoke from the apartment.
The woman lived there alone.
The cause of the fire is still unclear.
There are currently no indications of third party involvement.
