According to reports, on February 27, local time, the suspect assaulted or injured seven Asian women, aged between 19 and 57, for no apparent reason.

Local police said the first attack occurred at 6:30 p.m. local time on the 27th in midtown Manhattan.

At the time, the suspect approached a 57-year-old woman, punched her in the face, and left on foot.

The attack left the victim swollen on the left side of her face and injured her lip, and the victim has self-medicated.

"There was no prior interaction between the two parties and no speech was made," the police department said.

Since then, within a short period of time, the suspects attacked the faces of six other women with their hands or elbows, or pushed them to the ground, causing varying degrees of injuries such as tearing and swelling of the upper lip to the victims.

The string of attacks reportedly ended at 8:37 p.m. local time.

The report pointed out that hate crimes against Asians have surged during the new crown epidemic.

The NYPD reported in December 2021 that hate incidents against Asian Americans in the city in 2021 increased by 361 percent compared to the previous year.
