As one of the 2021 China Grand Canal Cultural Belt Beijing-Hangzhou Dialogue Sub-events, on October 22, the Beijing Symphony Orchestra and Beijing Opera Theatre jointly produced the large-scale Peking Opera Symphony Suite "Beijing Grand Canal", which was produced by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, debuted in Hangzhou.

  It is reported that "The Grand Canal in Beijing" is China's first stage art work reflecting the Beijing section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Through the integration of traditional Beijing opera and Western symphony, it traces the development context, historical changes, cultural allusions, and Beijing of the Beijing section of the Grand Canal.   The performance lineup on that day was strong and magnificent. There were nearly 200 actors on stage.

It is worth mentioning that the six "Plum Blossom Award" winners competed on the same stage, Du Zhenjie, Li Hongtu, Chi Xiaoqiu, Zhang Huifang, Zhang Xinyue, Yang Shaopeng, famous actors from various genres of Peking opera gathered, and the audience was enthusiastic and applauded.
