Rostock (dpa / mv) - On Wednesday 452 new corona infections were reported in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since the day before.

That was 122 fewer new infections than on Wednesday a week ago, as the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) announced (as of 4:46 p.m.).

Five more people died from coronavirus infection, bringing the number of deaths in the country to 950.

The incidence rose slightly by 0.2 compared to the previous day to 138 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.

A week ago, this value was reportedly nationwide at 158.3.

At 179.9, the seven-day incidence is currently highest in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district, followed by the Vorpommern-Greifswald district with 176.6.

According to Lagus, the value is lowest in the Hanseatic city of Rostock at 81.7.

The total number of corona infections detected so far in the northeast is 37,395. Around 31,800 people are considered to have recovered.

The number of corona patients treated in clinics is currently 298 - 11 more than the day before.

79 corona patients were in intensive care units, 3 more than on Tuesday.
