The Luxembourg Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, as part of the Luxembourg Cultural Week, organized an artistic event that included many artists who presented a distinguished project, called "We want to remain what we are", and embodied the diversity of Luxembourg.
Clay making pottery is one of the ancient discoveries of mankind, and it is a form of handicraft that is practiced in Luxembourg and Dubai, and refers to human unity. Hence, artist Julie Conrad was inspired to make a piece of pottery using 3D printing.
Because poetry has a special place in the Arab world, the pavilion displays a collection of 40 poems, written by 21 famous authors in Luxembourg, and translated into Arabic and English.
An excerpt from Luxembourg literature is presented to the global audience at Expo 2020 Dubai.
The artists also present a piece of music inspired by historical events.
It is noteworthy that Luxembourg is the first country to officially sign the agreement for its participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, and the first country to lay the foundation stone for its pavilion at the site of the international event.
An artwork titled “How to Host a Ghost” is displayed in the pavilion, which figuratively addresses the places inhabited by ghosts. The project consists of an interlocking monument displayed in the art space, in which six artists from Luxembourg, Croatia, Russia, Lebanon, Iran and Dubai participated.
The pavilion also displays inspiring artworks, as well as distinctive stories that embody Luxembourg civilization.
In addition to captivating the eyes with its unique architectural design, the pavilion introduces entrants to multiculturalism and how Luxembourg succeeded in transforming from an agricultural country into an industrial powerhouse and a global financial center.
