OAG International, a provider of airport and airline data, reported that airlines operating in the UAE airports, in total, occupied more than three million and 92 thousand seats on flights during last July, compared to two million and 520 thousand seats in June, with a rate of A growth of 22.7%.

The Corporation stated that seat capacity in July reached its highest level, indicating a growth rate of 78.3 percent in the number of seats occupied by airlines in July 2021, compared to July 2020.

And it indicated that airlines in the UAE market will occupy, this week, starting from the second of August, 682.5 thousand seats, compared to 682 in the previous week, with a slight growth rate of 0.3%.

The Corporation indicated that airlines in the Middle East region will occupy about 2.97 million seats this week, with a growth rate of 1% compared to the previous week, pointing out that the UAE market accounts for about 23% of the total volume of capacity occupied by airlines in the region.

Globally, the institution said, the marginal reductions in global capacity this week, as is always the case, hide many adjustments in capacity, with the end of seasonal holidays in some countries, while the authorities in some countries impose or threaten another series of restrictions.

And it showed that with about 81.2 million seats this week, globally, the number of seats decreased by 0.5% from last week, or 391,000 seats.
