Every day in the municipalities of the Community of Madrid -without counting the capital-

230 fines are imposed

on average

for breaking the anti-Covid regulations

.

Since September 21, when the first perimeter confinement came into force in 37 areas of eight towns to try to stop the second wave of the coronavirus, until the end of October the local police officers have jointly processed 9,497 complaints.

According to the data collected by the Government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, to which EL MUNDO has had access,

one in three sanctions is imposed for not wearing a mask

, which is mandatory in both open and closed public spaces in the region since the end of July.

Another 24% of the breaches are related to the holding of meetings of more than six people: only during the La Almudena bridge in the capital, 400 illegal parties have been intervened, including those in a bar in La Cañada Real, a pub in Azca and a private venue in the El Rastro area with a total of 159 attendees.

Other fines are related to

alcohol consumption on public roads (16%)

;

for unjustifiably leaving or entering a confined area (12%);

skipping the curfew established in Madrid between 00:00 and 6:00 (7%);

and the breach by establishments -mainly in the hospitality sector- of the rules of schedules and reduction of capacity that affect them (4%).

In addition, of the 470 controls carried out to verify compliance with quarantines by positives in Covid-19 or close contacts of positives, 103 resulted in complaints.

In other words: at least one in five people who should be isolated to prevent contagion

had ignored health warnings

.

In the Community of Madrid they recall that non-compliance with the anti-Covid regulations can lead to fines of up to 601 euros in the case of minor infractions, up to 15,025 in serious and

up to 601,012 in very serious

.

Beyond the economic penalty, it continues to appeal to "individual responsibility" in the face of a virus that the Ministry of Health puts the label of "treacherous".

By municipalities, of the 9,497 complaints made in six weeks,

Parla leads the ranking with 933

, practically 10% of the total.

They are followed by Móstoles (767), Las Rozas (567), Getafe (552), Boadilla del Monte (550), Majadahonda (516), Leganés (320), Alcobendas (445), Pozuelo de Alarcón (435) and Alcorcón (433 ).

The rest of the municipalities where non-compliances have been detected are below 4% of the total.

There are currently restrictions in 41 basic health zones in the region, including eight municipalities in full.

The

night

curfew

and

the prohibition of meetings of more than six people

are also in force throughout the autonomous region
