The fire was lit on October 18 at the traditional consecration ceremony at Ancient Olympia in Western Greece.

On October 19, the flame was handed over to the organizers of the 2022 Olympics at the Panafinaikos stadium in Athens.

On a charter flight, the fire arrived in Beijing.

The Olympic Flame Welcoming Ceremony will soon take place at the Bird's Nest Stadium in the Olympic Tower of the Chinese capital.

The Beijing Olympics kicks off on February 3, 2022.

The closing ceremony of the Games will be held on February 21, 2022.
