On the 8th local time, the South Korean Coast Guard stated that at about 1:30 a.m. that day, a helicopter belonging to the South Korean Coast Guard Air Force crashed into the sea near Maro Island, Seogwipo City, Jeju Island.
There were 4 people on the helicopter at the time of the incident, of which 1 was rescued, 2 were killed and 1 was missing.
After the accident, the South Korean Coast Guard and the navy dispatched ships to search for the missing persons in the waters of the incident.
The cause of the helicopter crash is still under investigation.
