The Ministry of Health publishes the latest figures for the coronavirus in Spain. The number of cases amounts to 223,578 confirmed by PCR, 604 more than the previous day, according to official figures. Spain now has 26,479 deaths from coronavirus, 179 more than yesterday.

The figure represents a decrease of 22% compared to yesterday's deceased, which amounted to 229, and is the lowest since March 19. 179 victims have been registered, representing a total of 26,478 deaths from Covid-19, according to Health. In relation to the number of cured, 2,804 new cases have been reported, making a total of 133,952.

For other data that also improve with respect to those registered yesterday are the cases that have required hospitalization , which in the last 24 hours have been 489 new cases, compared to 762 yesterday and ICU admissions: 70 new , a figure that also decreases compared to 85 yesterday. The total since the beginning of the pandemic of these two values ​​is 122,265, people who have required hospitalization and 11,292 , which have been admitted to intensive care units .

In this sense, they have had no new entries in the ICU Aragón, Cantabria, Ceuta, Extremadura, Melilla, Murcia, Navarra and La Rioja . These autonomous communities will pass to phase 1 of de-escalation next Monday , May 11. On the other hand, there are Catalonia and Madrid with 34 and 15 new patients admitted to the ICU . These autonomies will remain in phase O of de-escalation, with the exception of some areas of Tarragona and Lleida.

The incidence rate in the last 14 days is highest in Castilla y León, with 75 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Catalonia (5673.95) and Navarra (62.9), La Rioja (56.5) and Madrid (51.7), all of them, except Madrid and some areas of Catalonia and Castilla y León, in Phase 1 of the de-escalation.

Catalonia and Madrid are also the ones that have most regretted in these last hours , with 36 and 46 killed in the last 24 hours by Covid-19, out of a total of 179. Castilla-La Mancha -which Health has only given the move to phase I to two of its provinces, Guadalajara and Cuenca- is the third community with the most deaths from the virus, with 25 deaths and 4 new admissions to the ICU. The Basque Country, which is making progress in de-escalation, has registered 13 new deaths, 2 ICU admissions and 47 new hospitalizations.

The number of positive health professionals notified to the CCAES by the CCAA is 47,481.
