The Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, was briefed on the results of implementing the policies, initiatives and projects of the General Traffic Department, which contributed to reducing the death rate and serious injuries by 16%, and avoiding serious injuries by 38%.

He praised the efforts of the General Traffic Department in enhancing traffic security and safety, and achieving strategic indicators aimed at reducing the number of deaths resulting from road accidents per 100,000 residents, through qualified specialized human cadres, and the use of the latest smart technologies and artificial intelligence programs to control traffic movement.

During his inspection of the General Traffic Department at the headquarters of "Expo 2020 Dubai", as part of the annual inspection program for public administrations and police stations, Al-Marri praised the achievements of the General Traffic Department, and its future projects and plans, stressing the keenness of the Dubai Police General Command to harness artificial intelligence techniques and technical and human cadres. Specialized in the traffic field, to ensure the provision of high-end services that exceed the aspirations of customers, and contribute to enhancing road security and public safety.

In the presence of the Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, Major General Engineer Muhammad Saif Al-Zafin, he listened to the results of the “Artificial Intelligence Techniques to Control Road Security” initiative, which contributed to the automation of technical control processes by 100%, without any human intervention, reducing the carbon footprint to 87.5%, and achieving a percentage of 100% in handling complaints.

Al-Marri also listened to an explanation about the results of the smart reservation initiative, the “border control and internal control points” initiative, and warning violations, in addition to the results of the “Dubai Traffic Safety Strategy” initiative, which contributed to reducing the death rate and run-over accidents.

Al-Marri discussed with the General Directorate of Traffic the results of the "main operations indicators", which contributed to reducing the death rate per 100,000 residents, reducing the death rate of run-over accidents on the road per 100,000 residents, and the rate of serious accidents, in addition to examining the results of dealing with violations during Specific time period and number of traffic awareness programmes.
