A 14-year-old young man died Thursday at the Grenoble University Hospital (Isère), reports
Le Dauphine Libéré
on Monday.
The teenager had been knocked down three days earlier by a car while riding his bicycle.
He had been hospitalized in very serious condition and eventually succumbed to his injuries.
The driver flees
According to the first elements of the investigation relayed by our colleagues, the victim had left the cycle path to cross the road on a protected passage.
A motorist had hit him before fleeing.
The man later reported to the Grenoble police station.
His driver's license had been suspended and he had borrowed his father's vehicle.
He was also driving under the influence of narcotics.
He was indicted for "aggravated involuntary injuries" but the facts will be reclassified as "aggravated manslaughter".
