In Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, 40 positive cases (out of 264 detainees) were identified in the remand center during a screening campaign carried out on Friday by the Regional Health Agency (ARS), as well as 14 cases ( out of 167) at the detention center.

“There is no serious case for the moment, underlines a spokesperson for the DISP.

The positive cases have been isolated and everything has been reviewed to limit contact, with the installation of hygiaphones in the visiting rooms and the cessation of group activities, with the exception of sport which is practiced outdoors.

A "generalized fed up" according to a staff union

Last Thursday, another cluster was declared in Lyon-Corbas, with 51 positive cases out of 200 inmates in the men's remand center and 7 out of 65 cases in women.

An agent is also positive for Covid-19 in Lyon-Corbas, reports the DISP.

In Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, 167 prisoners had received two doses of vaccine on August 31 and 45 had received a first injection, adds the prison administration.

The staff union UFAP-UNSA deplored in a press release that "on the prison staff side, no screening [had] been carried out" and "no information note" had been sent to them.

"Several officials tested outside declared themselves positive, with also two positive cases in the private partner Sodexo", also affirms the union, which denounces a "generalized fed-up".
