11 people were killed in a bombing near the nuclear plant in Ukraine
A Ukrainian official said that at least 11 people were killed in missile attacks in the Dnipropetrovsk region, not far from the Zaporizhia nuclear plant.
"A tragic night... in the Nikopol region, the Russian army killed 11 people and wounded 13," Valentin Ryzhenko, head of the Dnipropetrovsk region's military administration, wrote on Telegram today.
The two affected areas are located on the other bank of the Dnipro River near the Zaporizhia station, which has been bombed several times over the past days, and about which Ukraine and Russia have accused each other.
Ryzhenko added that the town of Marhants was the most affected, with 20 multi-storey buildings damaged, and he explained that ten people died in the town and 11 were injured, seven of them seriously.
In another village near Nikopol, a woman died in her home as a result of the attack, and two people were injured.
The two villages are located on the north bank of the Kakhovka Reservoir on the Dnipro River.
On the southern side, less than 20 kilometers away, is the nuclear plant that was attacked, raising international concerns about its safety.
