According to reports, as of 11 a.m. on the 14th, according to the disaster situation compiled by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, a total of 14 earth-rock disasters occurred in 7 counties including Kyushu. Among them, two residential houses in Unzen City, Nagasaki Prefecture were hit by mudslides on the 13th. It is known that 1 female died, 1 male was seriously injured, and 2 people are missing.
According to reports, the deceased was a 59-year-old woman, and her 67-year-old husband and 32-year-old daughter were missing. The police judged that it was likely to be affected by the mudslide.
According to a report from Japan's "Sankei Shimbun", at about 10 am on the 14th, some people reported that Chawanzaka in Higashiyama District, Kyoto City, "the road was blocked by the collapse of soil and rock."
The local police said that the hillside behind the house collapsed with a height and width of about 10 meters, and the nearby gas pipeline was damaged, causing gas leakage.
There are about 40 people living in 16 households, all of whom have taken refuge from their homes. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
The collapse site is located about 300 meters west of Kiyomizu Temple and is a corner of an area full of souvenir shops.
