The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced that it has finally finalized 12 kinds of 3 warning pictures to be attached to cigarette packs from December 23rd after deliberation by the National Health Promotion Policy Deliberation Committee.
The new warning picture is 9 out of 12, and lung cancer, oral cancer lesions, and tooth discoloration photos have been used to clearly communicate the harmful effects of smoking.

Heart disease, premature death, pregnant woman smoking, secondhand smoke, etc. were also selected as subjects of the warning picture.

In addition, the phrase has been changed concisely to reflect the small area of ​​the cigarette case.

Sung-woong Na, Director of the Health Policy Division of the Ministry of Health and Welfare explained, “Replacing the cigarette warning picture and phrase will provide a clear reminder of the harmful effects of cigarettes.”
