After the Corinthians won 4-0 against Ferroviária yesterday, the team hit the record, a win figure that no other professional women's club has been close to. The team has not lost since March and managed to score 97 goals (with only eight admitted) in the meantime, when both the national series game and the state championship are included - two leagues played in parallel and are of great importance in Brazilian football on both the women's and men's sides.

On the team's twitter, the team sent a request to Guinness Record Book to record their results and the BBC came with the information that only New Saints' master team on the men's side achieved something similar.

If the Corinthians win their home game against Sao Jose, in the national game, on Wednesday, they break New Saints record. New Saints in turn beat Ajax's 44-year-old winning record three years ago.

Corinthian's recent loss was 2-1 against Santos, Santos still challenging them for the championship title.
