WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Washington on Monday published aerial satellite images that it said were smoke plumes of the Abqaiq and Khurais oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, which were targeted by drones.

US officials said the evidence suggested that the attacks were carried out with cruise missiles, either from Iraq or Iran.

They also pointed out that the information was that the attack was not drones from Yemen, while pictures also showed that the attack targeted 17 sites within the targeted factories in the two sites of "Aramco".

The Houthi terrorist group in Yemen claimed responsibility for the attack on Aramco's oil facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais.

Reactions to the attacks on two Saudi Aramco plants were followed in the east of the kingdom, which halted half of Saudi oil exports and dealt a blow to the global economy.
