Actor John Boyega - Avalon / Starface

Disney apparently believes that the public is still not tired of Star Wars . The Hollywood giant, who already has at least four films - more or less officially - in the pipeline, would develop a fifth, if we are to believe Deadline.

This new installment in the space opera saga would take place on Exegol, the planet of the Sith villains, which we discover in The Ascension of Skywalker , episode IX. But above all, it will be written by Matt Owens ( Luke Cage , Agents of SHIELD ) and directed by JD Dillard ( Sleight , Sweetheart ).

Always a fan

This duo may not tell you anything, but it's a revolution in the Star Wars universe , since they will simply be the first African American author / director duo to take charge of a film from the saga. JD Dillard is also a huge fan of the saga, who collaborated with Abrams on The Force Revival in 2015 and managed to convince the director to give her the role of a Stormtrooper Skywalker in Ascension, released Last year. The franchise is therefore in good hands.

The latest news, in addition to the return of The Mandalorian and the arrival of the series on Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney +, the house of Mickey would have launched the development of a Star Wars film with Kevin Feige, the architect of the MCU , at the controls, and a new trilogy which would be written and produced by Rian Johnson, the director of Knives Out but also of Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.
