Cairo International Airport witnessed clashes between the Egyptian security and the fans of the Algerian team crowned with the African Cup of Nations because of the crowds at the airport during their return trip after the end of the continental championship.

The social networking sites witnessed a speech among the leaders from both countries, and the video clips that monitored the unfortunate events spread, while the local Egyptian press announced the end of the crisis on Sunday evening.

According to local reports, the overcrowding of Algerian fans at Cairo airport delayed the departure of their flights and forced some to land.

The public's discontent with the length of the wait turned into frictions that developed into clashes with airport security, and the Egyptian authorities were forced to reinforce them with additional forces to counter the large numbers of the crowd, which reportedly numbered 4,000.

It is noteworthy that the Algerian fans came to Cairo intensively to encourage their national team in the final of the nations of Africa, through an air bridge reached 28 aircraft, civilian and military.
