Randy Walden, director of the US Air Force’s Quick Capabilities Management Department, said that “with today's successful landing, the X-37B completed the longest flight to date and successfully completed all mission tasks.”

He noted that "during this mission, in particular, the experiments of the US Air Force Research Laboratory were successfully conducted."

In September 2017, SpaceX published a video showing the Falcon 9 rocket successfully fulfilling its mission: after putting the X-37B military drone into orbit almost nine minutes after launch, the first stage of the rocket landed.

The launch took place on Cape Canaveral in Florida.
