US Bloomberg news agency quoted US officials as saying that China has not disclosed the actual numbers of deaths and cases of coronavirus.

Citing White House officials who have seen recent intelligence reports, the agency said, the available information indicates that the number of deaths announced by the Chinese authorities is false.

China had declared 3,300 people dead and 82,000 infected with the Corona virus since the outbreak in late 2019, compared to more than 189,000 infections and more than 4,000 deaths in the United States, where the first case appeared at the end of January, according to Koons Hopkins University.

Bloomberg indicated that China is not the only country with suspicious numbers, and said doubts are also circulating about the numbers issued by Russia, Iran, Indonesia, North Korea, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

For his part, US Senator Ted Cruz blamed China for the outbreak of the Corona epidemic in the world and in the United States.

In a telephone interview with Fox News, Cruz said that the Chinese government has played a crucial role in making the epidemic so dangerous, by hiding the reality of what happened in Wuhan.

He described China as the biggest geopolitical threat to the United States, and said it would have saved thousands of victims if it had revealed the truth about what was happening.

He added that his country knows that the epidemic originated from Wuhan, where there is a highly protected laboratory, and that "China is conducting tests for highly contagious diseases and coronaviruses, including those caused by bats."

He considered that this situation means that the Chinese knew that this disease had turned into a global pandemic, but they kept a secret of the truth.

Senator Cruz pledged to do everything in his power to uncover the truth and stand up to China, which he considered the greatest threat to US national security.

The period of the virus's appearance since last December has witnessed mutual accusations between China and the United States, whether about the cause of its outbreak or its spread.

China has suggested that it was the US military that probably brought the Corona virus to the Chinese city of Wuhan, where it first appeared last December.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Li Jian wrote in a tweet earlier this month about the date of the first corona infection in the United States, the number of patients infected, and the names of the hospitals they were detained in, calling on Washington to be transparent and announce the data, considering it A city of China with an interpretation.

The tweet came in response to the accusation by US National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien that the late response of the Chinese authorities to the spread of the virus may have cost the world two months of time, before beginning to take the necessary measures to fight the disease.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Corona affected more than 885,000 people worldwide, more than 44,000 of whom died, while more than 185,000 recovered.
