"Secretary of State Pompeo continues to impose restrictions on the Iranian regime’s nuclear program," the report said.

The State Department said that such a decision "will help maintain oversight of Iran’s civilian nuclear program, reduce proliferation risks, limit Iran’s ability to reduce" breakthrough time "to acquire nuclear weapons and prevent the regime from repurposing facilities for proliferation purposes."

Thus, “Iran’s construction sector as directly or indirectly controlled by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps” comes under sanctions.

Also, new restrictive measures apply to "four strategic materials that are used in the Iranian nuclear and military programs, as well as the ballistic missile program."

Earlier, the US Treasury said seven states imposed sanctions on 25 individuals and organizations for their relationship with the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and the Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah Party.
