Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry revealed that the UAE's trade with Botswana in Africa recorded in 2018 about 5.14 billion dirhams, while diamonds accounted for more than 90% of Botswana's exports to the UAE.

The Dubai Chamber reviewed the economic scene in the Emirate of Dubai during its participation through its representative office in Mozambique at the `` Botswana World Expo 2019 '', which was organized by the Botswana Commercial Investment Center recently, with the participation of 241 exhibitors from 13 countries.

The Dubai Pavilion won the Best International Exhibitor Award at the exhibition, which was well received by visitors and participants to identify investment opportunities in Dubai and the competitive advantages offered by the emirate to investors around the world, especially for traders in Botswana who want to export their products to the markets of the region.

Omar Khan, Director of External Offices at the Dubai Chamber, noted that the UAE's trade with Botswana grew from $ 500 million (AED 1.84 billion) in 2015 to $ 1.4 billion (AED 5.14 billion) in 2018, while diamonds accounted for more. 90% of Botswana's exports to the UAE, making the country an ideal destination for re-exporting Botswana diamonds to the world.

Khan pointed out that there are additional investment opportunities in the field of meat and livestock, as these products in Botswana are characterized by high quality, with a great demand in the markets of the country and the region, revealing that «Dubai Chamber» is studying African markets carefully to explore investment opportunities for its members and the business community in the emirate .

He explained that participation in this exhibition contributes to the definition of the African market, what Dubai can offer to its African partners, pointing out that the «Dubai Chamber» pavilion for the fifth session of the African Global Forum for Business, organized by the Chamber in November, as an additional distinct platform to consolidate partnerships Emirati - African.

Khan called on Botswana companies to take advantage of the Dubai market to export their products to international markets, stressing that the emirate provides infrastructure and logistics at the highest level, which can help deliver Botswana products to all markets in the world, and in record time, and in accordance with international quality requirements.
