Valencia won the Spanish King's Cup after beating Barcelona 2-1 in the final of the competition at the stadium "Benito Vilamarin" in Seville, to fail Barca in maintaining the local bilateral.
French forward Kevin Guamiro (22), Rodrigo Moreno (33) and Lionel Messi (1) scored the only goal.
Barcelona, who won the trophy with 30 titles, failed to add a new title to their vaults, especially after the Champions League semi-final by Liverpool.
Marcelino, who won the first big trophy since winning the trophy in 2008, has been in a feverish season in which he finished fourth, ahead of Getafe, to qualify for the Champions League next season.
