Works in the basement of cities are sometimes an opportunity to discover lost treasures. This is particularly the case in Toulouse, where workers responsible for developing a metro station have found prehistoric fossils. Two turtle shells and the jawbone of a 25-million-year-old rhinoceros have been unearthed, as revealed by France Bleu.
The carapaces measure between 10 and 15 centimeters and are between 25 and 28 million years old, according to Didier Delhoume, an archaeologist interviewed by local radio. Fossils must now be thoroughly appraised.
