Earlier, Trump said that Germany would become completely dependent on Russia in the energy sector if it did not change its course. At the same time, commenting on the possibility of imposing sanctions against construction participants, he said that people have the right to do what they want.
Polish authorities have repeatedly opposed SP-2, calling it harmful to European energy security.
The project involves the construction of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
