Toy experience party for children with intractable diseases and disabilities 18:47 on January 13, Tokyo

An event was held in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, where children could experience fun toys for children with intractable diseases or disabilities who have difficulty communicating with words or moving freely.

This event was held by the Tokyo Toy Museum and the Nippon Foundation because children with intractable illness or disabilities are often rehabilitated or have difficulty going out and have few opportunities to play.

On the 13th, six pairs of parents and children from Tokyo and Saitama participated, and 40 types of commercially available toys, such as those that produced sound and attracted children's interest, and simple structures and easy-to-use building blocks were introduced.

Participants searched for mats that could play scales when stepped on, musical instruments that made an electronic sound when touched, miniature cars and toys that rolled and played balls, etc., and were looking for something the children liked.

A 46-year-old mother from Itabashi Ward, who participated in a family of four including a 7-year-old son with cerebral palsy, said, "I was worried about how to play with my son, but we had fun trying various toys. It was good. "

Kyoko Ishii, Deputy Director of the Tokyo Toy Museum, said, "We would like to first distribute this set of toys to welfare facilities and consider selling it to homes in the future."
