The first stage Vosges was won Wednesday in sprint by Peter Sagan. Julian Alaphilippe enjoyed a quiet day and keeps his Yellow Jersey leader.

Slovakian Peter Sagan (Bora Hansgrohe) on Wednesday took away the 5th stage of the Tour de France which linked Saint-Dié-des-Vosges to Colmar, 175.5 km. The course, yet rugged, did not smile to the fighters. The breakaway of the day, composed of Belgium's Tim Wellens (Lotto-Soudal), Latvian Tom Skujins (Trek), Australian Simon Clarke (EF Education First) and Denmark's Mads Würtz (Katusha-Alpecin) held a little more than 130 km before its members are taken back in the coasts of the second part of stage.
