The house is built with the words environmental friendliness and sustainability in mind. As a result, the house has been awarded the Environmental Building Gold by the Sweden Green Building Council.
- To get it, it obviously requires a bit more than for a more traditional building. For example, low energy consumption is required, good sound environment and good with daylight, says Anders Borg, project manager at Akademiska Hus.
It was obvious to the university that the new student house would be built with a strong focus on the environment.
"It is a very important part for us at the university," says Karolina Ganhammar, university architect at Linköping University.
