The roof has since been folded into smaller parts, but the thieves are believed to have been broken because the sheet has been left on the ground.
The whole thing may have happened sometime since last Friday and until the notification was made on Monday afternoon, police say on their website.
The police have conducted a technical investigation at the scene, but have no suspects at this time.
