Five-time European champion Sofia Mattsson will also start her.

Last year Sweden took six medals in the European Championships. First out at the European Championships will be the World Cup two Alex Kessidis who starts his competition on 10 February and wrestles a possible final the following day. Kessidis wrestles 77 kg in his right Olympic weight and has the goal of taking home his first European Championship title at senior level.

Silver medalist Jenny Fransson goes to the European Championships with a loss of revenge after she lost gold last year when she finished in third place. The 2018 European Champion competes in 72 kg.

Johansson's best year 2019

Henna Johansson made her best wrestling year so far in 2019. The hope is that this year will be able to surpass 2019, where the dream of a historic Olympic gold is heralding. The European Championships will be the first major competition for Johansson since the World Cup bronze in September.

Sofia Mattsson is chasing the sixth European Championship title. Mattsson's highlight last year was arguably the gold during the European Games as she defeated the entire European Cup. The last time she won an official European Championship title was 2016.

However, Zakarias Berg, the European Championships 2018, is missing. He and some are resting to instead get refreshed for the Olympic qualification in March.
