Canary Coalition has denounced this Friday a possible abuse and a supposed fraud of the airlines when applying to the residents the bonus of 75%, and has criticized the action of the Government of Spain in this regard.
CC denounces that when trying to obtain a ticket to travel between the Canary Islands and the peninsula, the first question asked of the user is whether he is a resident , and they criticize that the price changes depending on whether they live on the islands.
They also criticize that the airlines have a geolocation program for mobile phones, so when it is found that the connection to get a ticket comes from the archipelago the price of the ticket increases between 200 and 400 euros for a resident in the islands.
When applying 75% discount to these tickets, the final price is similar to that paid by a non-resident Canary, with which the airline enters the difference, he has apostilled.
The deputy of the Canary Coalition has insisted that the 75 percent subsidy is a right included in both the Economic and Fiscal Regime Law (REF) and the Statute of Autonomy.
In a press conference, the deputy of CC Ana Oramas has criticized that the Minister of Public Works, José Luis Ábalos, said that "the Canaries travel a lot" to explain that since the application of this bonus they have raised the prices of tickets for Canarian residents.
